Virgin Mary
The Challenge
The holiday season brings a sense of joy and community, but for the local council, it brought an unexpected problem. The Virgin Mary ornament, a cherished part of the public Nativity display, was stolen and later found vandalized. Her face was missing, leaving the holiday decoration unusable. The council needed a quick and reliable solution to restore the ornament to its former glory before the next holiday season.

Our Solution
The council contacted Redleaf Animation with a unique request: repair the damaged Virgin Mary ornament. Our team was presented with a figure that had been meticulously crafted but was now left with a blank, featureless space where her face should have been.
Our skilled artisans approached the project with the utmost care and respect for the figure's original design. First, we began the intricate process of resculpting the face, meticulously recreating the delicate features to match the ornament’s serene aesthetic. Following the sculpting, we custom-blended a new batch of paint to perfectly match the figure's complexion and robes. This ensured a seamless finish where the repair was undetectable.

The Result
The restored Virgin Mary ornament was returned to the council and took its rightful place in the Nativity display the following holiday season. The project not only solved a pressing problem for the council but also demonstrated Redleaf Animation's ability to apply traditional sculpting and painting techniques to a unique and meaningful restoration project.
